California Man held Responsible for Dog Bite Injuries to Toddler

Man’s best friend – the common nickname for dogs sums up how most people feel about their four-legged friends. Dogs will reflect the mannerisms and personality of their owners, though, and they can be made to be very mean. It’s unfortunate since those same dogs are capable of infinite love, but humans can have such a dramatic impact on their psyche.

Just look at a case in Murietta. Robert Kahn took his Akita dog into a home improvement store. The dog was on a leash, but it attacked a three year old child who suffered from multiple dog bite injuries on the face and neck. (Calif. Dog Owners Charges in Attack on Child, 2014)

Because of things surrounding the case, the man was arrested and the Akita dog was taken to a rescue facility nearby. It seems that the man was responsible for two other cases of children being bitten although those cases had gone unreported.

It is the dog owner’s responsibility to ensure their pet doesn’t accidentally or purposely bite another person. Whether the case seems to be an accident or in some situations when the dog was trained to attack and bite, the owner can be held responsible.

If you or someone you love has been injured in a dog bite case, then you may be entitled to compensation depending on the case. You will need to contact an experienced attorney to discuss the parameters of your case. Call the offices of Thompson Wedeking today.
